Hello,
I'm A'Mhara, writer of atmospheric novels filled with mystery, a little history, and a touch of romance. I love wild landscapes, folktales, and stories from the past, and I'm drawn to settings that shape a story and the people in it.
Take a look around my site, and feel free to get in touch, or connect via Instagram at @amhara_mckey_writer
It's great to see you here.

More about A'Mhara
A’Mhara McKey is the quintessential book lover – a librarian, writer, and voracious reader of every kind of fiction. She grew up in the Northern Territory, Australia, where she rubbed shoulders with a man-eating crocodile and survived a Category 4 cyclone. She still lives in the Top End and is raising her three children with the same deep love of books and the bush.
Her unpublished manuscripts have been shortlisted for The Banjo Prize, and the ASA/HQ Fiction Prize, and have secured her two ArtsNT Varuna Fellowships. Her short stories have won two NT Literary Awards and a Lane Cove Literary Award, and have been shortlisted for several others.
